The Oregon Independent Choices Program offers qualified Oregon Medicaid recipients monthly cash payments to select their own care providers and potentially hire family or friends as paid caregivers. The goal of this program is to "prevent the premature or unnecessary institutionalization of disabled or elderly individuals," so individuals must live at home. Assistance for veterans is available.
